Sep 16, 2018 | CN Staff |

Nepal will play their first match of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup against India, as per the fixtures released by the Asian Cricket Council.

Nepal have been drawn in Asia Cup's Group 'A' that also consists of defending champions Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) -- who are the ACC U-19 Western Region champions.

The Asia Cup runs from September 29 to October 7 in Bangladesh. Hosts Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Pakistan and SriLanka are pitted in Group 'B'.

Nepal will renew their rivalry with India in their opening match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) 3 on September 29. They will then take on Afghanistan at the BKSP4 on October 1 before wrapping up the league stage on October 2 against the UAE at the same venue.

The last time Nepal played India in the U-19 Asia Cup, they had emerged as the victors. The first ever victory over India in cricket also gave Nepal their maiden spot in the Asia Cup semi-finals.

Nepal are currently playing the Quadrangular U-19 One Day Series in Lucknow where the team will be playing against Afghanistan U-19 in their last league match. Both Nepal and Afghanistan are out of the final race and will once again meet each other in the third place playoff on Tuesday.

India 'A' and 'B' are the other two teams in the Quadrangular Series with both already making it to Tuesday's final. Nepal had lost the first against India 'B' by 40 runs before going down to the 'A' side by eight wickets.
