Pokhara Premier League gets landmark TV deal

Himalaya TV and Queen’s Event Management Pvt Ltd on Friday signed a landmark deal as official broadcasting partner for the upcoming Pokhara Premier League (PPL).

PPL, another city-based franchise Twenty20 tournament of the country, begins from October 26 to November 6 in Nepal’s most famous tourist destination Pokhara. The three-year deal is worth Rs 30.7 million in cash and kind, the biggest amount disclosed for any Twenty20 cricket tournament of the country.

Queen’s Managing Director Chhumbi Lama and Himalaya TV Chairman Dharma Raj Bhushal signed the agreement during a programme in Kathmandu on Friday.

PPL will be participated in by six city-based franchise teams. The organisers are yet to unveil the teams. According to Lama, the unveiling of team’s, iconic players and players’ auction will be completed by the end of this month.
