Aasif Sheikh to lead Nepali U-19 team

Aasif Sheikh will lead the Nepali U-19 team when they take on the youth team of India and Afghanistan in a Quadrangular Cricket Tournament beginning from September 12 in Malaysia.

In a tournament organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Nepal will be one of the four teams vying in the event that also includes National Cricket Academy (NCA) U-19 team of the BCCI.

The selection of the cricketers were done by an independent selection committee headed by International Cricket Council (ICC) Representative Aminul Islam, U-19 head coach Binod Das who is assisted by coaches Sanoj Shrestha and Raju Khadka.

Aasif will lead the side that also includes his ACC U-19 Asia Cup teammates Pawan Sarraf, Kishor Mahato, Rashid Khan, Bhim Sharki, Kamal Singh Airee and Sandeep Jora. Other players include Sagar Dhakal, Arun Airee, Samsad Alam, Trit Raj Das, Rit Gautam, Bipin Rawal and Lokesh Bam.

The Nepali team is leaving for India on September 10.
