Aug 28, 2018 | CN Staff |

Kathmandu Kings XI on Tuesday named Zimbabwe allrounder Sikandar Raza as their third and final international recruit for the upcoming Everest Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Raza is so far the biggest name in Nepal's colourful city-based franchise Twenty20 competition which is tentatively scheduled to be held in December. Kings XI have already named two internaitonal cricketers previously, both being the top notch players.

Ireland international Kevin O'Brien and United Arab Emirates (UAE) skipper Rohan Mustafa are the other two cricketers announced by Kings XI as their international recruit. While O'Brien is famously known for his World Cup-fastest century which came during the 2011 World Cup in a shock-win over England.

Mustafa has already competed in Nepali atmosphere having played a crucial role in helping Team Chauraha Dhangadhi win the last edition of the Dhangadhi Premier League.

Kings XI had already hinted that it was going to rope in Raza through a puzzle that it posted in its facebook page. "Sikandar Raza is one of the coveted all-rounders rising from African continent who was also adjudged the man of the series in this year’s ICC World Cup Qualifiers," Kings XI said in press statement on Tuesday.

Raza has played 85 ODI matches, 10 Tests and  20 Twenty20 internationals. So far he is the most experienced cricketer to confirm for EPL. Kings XI is the first EPL franchise to announce all their three foreign recruits according to the tournament regulations.

On Monday, Chitwan Tigers announced two of its foreign recruits that included former England U-19 captain Max Holden and another English county player James Fuller.

Biratnagar Warriors, Bhairahawa Gladiators, Lalitpur Patriots and Pokhara Rhinos are the other four teams in the EPL.
