Nepal cricket team leaves for Sri Lanka

Nepal cricket team departed to Sri Lanka on Monday to fine tune their preparation for the ACC Asia Cup Qualifiers scheduled for August 29 to September 6.

Nepal will be playing three practice matches at Sri Lanka and then will head towards Malaysia on  27 August  to participate in the Asia Cup Qualifier 2018 to be held from  August 29 – September 6. They will begin their preparation tour by playing against Army Cricket team of Sri Lanka in the first match at Panagoda on  August 22  and will meet Bloomfield on  August 24  at Bloomfield ground. They will then wrap up the tour with the match against Colts Cricket Club on  August 26 .

Nepal have to battle out with five other teams to meet world cricket's powerhouse Indian and Pakistan in the Asia Cup as only the champions of the Qualifier will make it to the Asia Cup scheduled for September 15-28 in United Arab Emirates.

Since, star leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is currently playing in the Caribbean Premier League from Chris Gayle’s St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, he will join the team directly on  August 28 in Malaysia.

Paras Khadka is leading the Nepali team that also includes Binod Bhandari, Sagar Pun, Gyanendra Malla, Basanta Regmi, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gyanendra Malla, Karan KC, Lalit Singh Bhandari, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Aarif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, Anil Sah and Subash Khakurel.
