Nepal to meet Oman in Asia Cup Qualifer opener

Nepal will kick off their ACC Asia Cup Qualifier campaign against Oman on August 29 at the Bayuemas Oval Kuala Lumpur, as per the schedule announced by the Asian Cricket Council on Friday.

Six teams will battle out in the race to meet world cricket's powerhouse Indian and Pakistan in September 15-28 Asia Cup. Only the champions of the Qualifier will make it to the Asia Cup scheduled for September 15-28in the Asia Cup.

The participating teams will meet each other once in the league stage with the top two advancing into the final. Nepal will play their second match against UAE on August 30 and take on Malaysia after a day of rest. 

The penultimate match for Nepal will be against Singapore on September 2 before wrapping up the league campaign with the match against Hongkong on September 4.

Test cricket's new entrants Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in Group 'B' of the Asia Cup.
