Bajaj Khadak Warriors confirmed top spot in the first Mayor Cup Saptari Premier League after brushing aside Bode Barsain Thunders by six wickets at the Public Bindeshwori Secondary School grounds on Monday.

Electing to bat first in the fifth game of the tournament, Thunders could only muster 93-8 from 20 overs before Warriors completed the chase in 18.1 overs for the loss of four wickets.

Warriors had lost their top four batsmen with 67 runs on the board but Bibek Yadav and Firdosh Ansari avoided any sort of upset sharing 27 runs for the fifth wicket. Man-of-the-match Bibek made 19 with two boundaries and Firdosh hit a six and a four in his 17 runs.

Prashant Rai had top scored for the winning side with 39 runs hitting two boundaries and a six. Nandan Jha took two wickets for Warriors.

It was third consecutive victory for Warriors who will be meeting Thunders once again in the final on Tuesday. Mehboob Alam-led Tilathi Koiladi Heroes were already knocked out from the tournament on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Bikram Kumar Bhushal had top scored for Thunders making 26 runs. Ankit Subedi (15) and Sandeep Dhungana (10) were other notable scorers for them. Upendra Roy and Bibek took two wickets each for the winning side.
