Jul 14, 2018 | Saleena Shrestha |
Haseem Ansari smashed a quickfire half century leading Bajaj Khadak Warriors to their second consecutive victory in the first Mayor Cup Saptari Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament on Saturday

At the Public Bindeshwori Secondary School grounds, Warriors hammered Tilathi Koiladi Mahindra Heroes by seven wickets. Electing to field first, Warriors bundled out Heroes for just 90 runs in 20 overs. Haseem did the rest after the captain struck a 26-ball 58 not out as Warriors scampered to 91-3 in just 10.1 overs. Haseem's whirlwind knock included six sixes and three boundaries.

Samsad Seikh took two wickets for Heroes. Earlier, Bikas Das topscored with 28 runs while Mehboob Alam (16) and Amit Yadav(11) were other batsmen to reach double digits for the losing side. Gomanand Amatya and Hari Shankar Shah took three wickets each and Firdosh Ansari had two scalps for Warriors.

Mehboob’s Heroes will now take on Bode Barsain Thunders led by Siddhant Lohani on Sunday. A total of three teams are participating in the tournament organised by Saptari Cricket Association.
