Shakti-led Proince 5 run riot on Province 6

Skipper Shakti Gauchan returned the miserly figures of 3-4 from six overs as Province No 6 registered their first victory in the Prime Minister Cup One Day National cricket tournament on Sunday.
Electing to field first at the TU grounds, Shakti and Krishna Karki ran riot over the Province 6 top order reducing them to 8-5 in 6.1 overs before they were folded for a tournament low 55 in 22.5 overs. Opener Shankar Rana and Sandeep Sunar did the rest with a half century partnership leading the side to a nine-wicket victory at 59-1 in 10.4 overs. 
Shankar made 29 from 31 with six hits to the fence. Sandeep was unbeaten on 27 from 30 balls with six boundaries. Province 5, who had their first match washed out, are third in the Group 'B' table with three points from two games. 
Province 7 currently lead the table with five points having played all their four matches and NPC are second on net run rate after they were tied on points with Province 5 playing equal two games. Winless Province 6 are out of the tournament. 
Shakti and Krishna forged a lethal pace and spin combination for Province 5 as the former removed three out of top five Province 6 batsmen for duck. Vijaya Bista and Diwan Pun (nine) offered a brief resistance before the collapse resumed for Province 6 with leg spinner Bikram Bhushal removing both the batsmen. 
Vijaya scored 17 from 45 balls with a boundary. Bikram also bowled econmical taking 3-13 from five overs. Lal Bahadur Ahikari took 2-9 and Krishna's figures read 2-11. Province 6 innings included just four boundaries.
