Spinners Sanjam, Samsad run riot over Province 4

Spinners Sanjam Regmi and Samsad Sheikh accounted for nine wickets as Province No 2 registered their first victory in the Prime Minister Cup One Day National cricket tournament defeating Province No 4 by 67 runs in a low scoring game.

At the Mulpani grounds, Province 2 were 158 all out in 44.3 overs but former national team veteran Sanjam and Samsad ripped through the Province 4 batting order bundling them out for just 91 runs in 28.5 overs.

Anil Gurung top scored for Province 4 making 36 from 69 balls with three boundaries and Suma Ghimire was next best scorer with a 36-ball 32 that included four boundaries. Sanjam dismissed both the set batsman and the man-of-the-match returned the figures of 5-16 from 10 overs with three maiden.

Samsad, who had also returned with four wickets in the match against Province 1 but for a losing cause, took 4-20 from 7.5 overs.

In a tough Mulpani pitch to bat on, Bishal Shusling making 26 from 69 with one boundary. Rashid Khan (18), Rahul Pratap Singh (17) and Mehboob Alam (17) were other notable scorers. Bipin Khatri and Hari Bahadur Chaudhan picked up three wickets each for Province 4.
