Nepal’s leg spin sensation Sandeep Lamichhane said he would be really happy if he gets to see all Nepali cricketers in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sandeep returned from his short but a successful IPL stint playing last three matches for the Delhi Daredevils and impressed in all of them. While he took 1-25 against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, his 1-21 (against Chennai Super Kings) and 3-36 (against Mumbai Indians) handed Daredevils victories.

“It was a great opportunity for me to make Nepal proud. I think I grabbed it. There are a lot of players in Nepal who deserve bigger stage and it would be really wonderful if I can see all Nepali cricketers playing in the IPL,” said Sandeep after he landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Sandeep called his IPL journey an unforgettable one. “It was an unforgettable journey for me in the IPL. I got to learn a lot and I still have a long way to go,” he added.

The Nepali leg spinner had to make a long wait after he spent most of the times in Daredevils dugout but once he was given the opportunity to play against Kohli’s Bangalore, Sandeep made the most of it. Apart from taking five wickets, he also returned with good economy of 6.833.

Despite getting a chance after Daredevils were knocked out from playoff contention, Sandeep still cherished the three matches and was modest enough to talk about Daredevils combination.

“I knew that I was not going to get inside the playing XI in the beginning of the tournament because there were other players who had a haul of experience. But getting to play the last three matches and managing to prove myself is a good feeling for me,” he said.
