Oman national cricketer among Challengers' int'l recruits

Rupandehi challengers, one of the six franchises in the Ruslan Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL), have announced their international recruits for this season. 

The second edition of the tournament kicks off at the SP grounds in Dhangadhi from March 31 -April 13.

Oman cricketer Sufyan Mohammad, 26, is one among the two foreign players for Challengers. Sufyan who plays for Oman national team has featured in two T20I matches along with four list A and two T20s. He bowls right arm medium pace and is a left hand batsman.

Dipak Prasad of Calcutta is the other recruit having the experience of playing in BCCI-sanctioned tournaments representing Bengal-XI and Bengal U-23. Prasad is a right arm fast-medium bowler and right hand batsman.

As per the tournament regulations, all the participating teams need to have two foreign players in their 15-member squad. 

A total of six city based teams -- CYC Attariya, Kathmandu Goldens, Team Chauraha Dhangadhi, Rupandehi Challengers, Biratnagar Kings, Mahendranagar United- will are competing in the second edition of DPL.

The winners will receive a cash purse of Rs. 2.5 million -- the biggest amount so far given to the champions in domestic cricket.
