Jan 26, 2018 | Cricketingnepal |
Dubbed new finisher of the country, Rohit Kumar Paudel has been paid for his Everest Premier League exploits as the youngster broke into the national team for the first time.

Nepal are currently preparing for the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 tournament which is scheduled to begin in Namibia from February 2. The six-team Division 2 tournament sends the top two teams into March's ICC World Cup Qualifiers hosted by Zimbabwe.

Rohit was the toast of the city based franchise Twenty20 cricket tournament as he played a key role in guiding his side into the semi-finals of the EPL.

He was already gathering attention after his performance against Bangladesh in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup, while he had also grabbed attention during 2016 ACC U-19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

Along with Rohit, Anil Kumar Sah has also found a place in the team as he was retained from the side that played the ICC World Cricket League Championship final round matches against the UAE. Anil had replaced Dipendra Singh Airee for the UAE games but is yet to make his debut.

While Sunil Dhamala, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Siddhant Lohani and Kishor Mahato were kept reserves, wicketkeeper batsman Dilip Nath and left arm seamer Lalit Singh Bhandari were also retained from the last Nepali squad.

Paras Khadka will skipper the Nepali team that includes Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, Shakti Gauchan, Sompal Kami, Basanta Regmi, Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC, Aarif Sheikh and Sandeep Lamichhane.

Nepal will play hosts Namibia, UAE, Kenya, Canada and Oman in the Division 2.
