Lalitpur Patriots unveil players picked up from talent hunt

Lalitpur Patriots on Monday has unveiled its four players picked up through the talent hunt for the upcoming Everest Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament set to begin from December 18 at the TU Stadium.

Right hand batsman and wicketkeeper Rit Gautam, spinner Bipin Acharya, left arm medium pace bowler Pratish GC and allrounder Sumit Jha were picked up following a talent hunt programme at the Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre. All four players will get Rs. 25,000 each for their selection.

A total of 105 players had participated in the training camp from where 31 players were picked up for te final round of selection. It has been made mandatory for all the teams to include one cricketer from the talent hunt programme.

Out of the four players only one player will be kept in the final 14-member squad, while three will also participate in their training camp.

The six franchises participating in the EPL are also supposed to field three international recruits. Other teams have also been doing talent hunt programmes.

Kathmandu Kings XI, Biratnagar Warriors, Chitwan Tigers, Pokhara Rhinos and Bhairahawa Gladiators are other five teams in the EPL which is so far the highest cash prize cricket tournament of the country. The champions of the tournament will receive Rs 2.1 million.
