Faulkner and Marsh out of Australia squad

Sep 15, 2016 | Kaushal Adhikari |

Cricket Australia has ruled out their all rounder James Faulkner and batsman Shaun Marsh out of Australia Squad for their tour of South Africa because of injuries. Australia has called opening batsman Usman Khawaja into the team.

Faulkner had a calf strain during a training session just before the announcement of squad and is set to be out of the team for a month while Marsh who fractured finger during Australia’s’ recent tour of Sri Lanka did not recover from his injury which led in out of the team.

29 years old Khawaja who played in just two One Day International cricket during Sri Lanka tour made just six and a duck out was initially not included in the team but after Marsh was not ruled out he was replaced in place of Marsh.

Australia has not named any replacement of Faulkner which means their 14 men squad will travel to South Africa.

Australia will start tour of South Africa playing against Ireland on September 27 and will play five ODI match series against South Africa starting on September 30.
