Leg spinner Lamicchane nominated for NSJF Youth PoY award

Nepal's rising leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been nominated in NSJF Pulsar Sports Award Youth Player of the Year category.


Lamichhane, who has earned a widespread recognition during Nepal's ICC U-19 World Cup captain, was instrumental in leading his team into the quarter-finals of the World Cup.


The 16-year old will have to fight a tough battle against 12th South Asian Games gold medallist Nima Gharti Magar, teen swimming sensation Gaurika Singh and footballer Anjan Bista.


Lamichhane had a memorable debut with the junior national team finishing as the second leading wicket taker of the tournament with 14 wickets. His performance also included a hat-trick against Ireland in a five-wicket haul.


He was compared with Australian leg spin legend Shane Warne during the World Cup with his videos of turning deliveries with variations going viral in international media, BBC was one of the.
