After losing their first match to Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club (SLPACC), Nepal registered a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Colombo Colts Cricket Club in their ICC World Cricket League Division-III preparation in Sri Lanka on Sunday.

Sagar Pun, skipper Paras Khadka and his deputy Gyanendra Malla were the star performers as Nepal headed into their third match against Combined Eleven with a victory that included skipper Paras Khadka.

Paras was rested for Nepal's first match against SLPACC which Nepal lost by 74 runs but the skipper's return meant the visiting side were back to the winning ways.

Sagar took 5-29 from his off spin in 9.3 overs as Colombo Colts were bundled out for just 151 in 43.3 overs. Paras and Gyanendra then shared a 104-run partnership for the third wicket as Nepal reached 152-3 in 35 overs.

Nepal lost openers Subash Khakurel (nine) and Naresh Budhayer (seven) with just 33 runs on the board before the duo of Paras and Gyanendra lifted Nepal. Paras hammered four sixes and two fours in his 67 off 68 before losing his wicket to Akila Dhananjaya.

Gyanendra remained unbeaten on 56 off 96 with two boundaries and a six to sail Nepal home. Sharad Vesawkar was unbeaten on three. Dhananjyaa returned with 2-44 for the local side.

Earlier, Colmbo Colts were lifted by an 83-run partnership between opener Sadeera Samarawickrama and skipper Anjelo Jayasinghe after Som Pal Kami struck with two quick dismissals.

Samarawickrama made 39 off 56 with two fours and a six before he was bowled by Sagar Pun. Jayasinghe made 50 off 75 with four boundaries and after his run out of Paras, Sagar wreaked havoc to stop the run flow.
