Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) put their one foot in the semi-finals of the Senior One Day National Cricket Tournament at the TU Stadium grounds on Thursday defeating Region-V (Nepalgunj) by 60 runs.

TAC lead Group ‘A’ table with six points winning all their first three matches. Nepalgunj and Region-II (Birgunj) are up next with four points from three matches. After the lower middle order pushed TAC to 171 all out in 42.3 overs, Nepalgunj had a chance to prove their resurgence in national cricket by defeating the title contenders having their top order giving a solid performance in the first two matches.

However, Nepalgunj were left down and out losing Siddhant Raj Shahi and Prajjawal Shahi, the man who got the scores of 96 not out and 93 in the first two games, for ducks before they were skittled out for just 111 in 30.3 overs.

Rajbir Singh top scored for Nepalgunj with 33 off 47 with three fours and two sixes, while Shubendu Pandey made 27 off 56 with three hits to the fence. Sunam Gautam, who took three lower order wickets, finished with the figures of 4-33 from 7.3 overs, while Rahul Kumar BK struck with crucial middle order wickets returning the figures of 3-28 from eight overs.
