APF set two new records from one match

While Tribhvuan Army Club (TAC) have just popped out in the domestic cricket, mighty Nepal APF Club are getting better day-by-day as the defending National Twenty20 champions set two new records on Sunday.

In their Pepsi Standard Chartered Twenty20 National Cricket Tournament match against Region No 7 (Janakpur), APF piled up a massive 199-5 after batting first. The digits are so far the highest team total in the National Twenty20. They later restricted Janakpur to 62-7 filing a 137-run win, the biggest margin victory ever.

Previously, Baitadi held the national record for the highest team total after they made 195 against Janakpur in 2012 in the same tournament. Kathmandu’s total of 194 against Region No 2 (Birgunj) has now been pushed to third. APF had also made 193-5 against Region No 8 Pokhara in the opening match of the ongoing tournament.

In terms of biggest margin victory, APF hold all three top positions. After their 137-run victory over Janakpur on Sunday, APF pushed their previous records of 123-run victory over Region No 3 Kathmandu in 2011 at the second spot and 105-run win over Region No 1 (Biratnagar) to the third.
