Anil Kumar Sah has struck his second consecutive Twenty20 century in the Mayor Cup Saptari Premier League on Wednesday.
A day after hammering a 50-ball ton, Anil clobbered a 64-ball 113 in Bajaj Khadka Warriors’ huge 89-run victory over Rupani Riders. Batting first at the Raj Sadium in Rajbiraj, Warriors amassed tournament-high 194-4 as skipper Bibek Yadav also chipped in with a 23-ball half century.
Riders, in reply, were 105 all out in 17 overs. Firdosh Ansari was the lone fighter for Riders stroking a 34-ball 54 that included eight fours and two sixes. Sunil Dhamala (16) was the only batsman to reach double figures.
For Warriors, Gomananda Amatya took 3-15, while Anil Kharel and Bibek also took two wickets apiece.
Earlier, Anil and Bibek punished a wayward Riders’ bowling adding 138 runs for the third wicket. Anil, who completed his half century in 44 deliveries, took just 16 balls to smash the second 50. His innings included 12 fours and seven sixes. Bibek also hit four sixes and as many boundaries.
Later in the day, Tilathi Koiladi Giants overcame a quickfire 46-ball 78 from former national team unpredictable allrounder Mehboob Alam to beat TVS Kings Rajbiraj by four wickets. Alam’s innings led Kings to 144 all out in 18.4 overs.
Rashid Khan replied with equally dangerous innings remaining unbeaten on 65 off just 29 as Giants reached the target in just 15.1 overs. Rashid was involved in an unbroken 87-run fifth wicket stand with Dipesh Kandel.
Rashid struck eight sixes and two fours. Dipesh played a 15-ball cameo of 30 that included two sixes and fours apiece. Dinesh Adhikari and Alam took two wickets each for Kings. Santosh Karki (15) had also made runs in double figures for Giants.
Rashid and Dipesh were also the leading wicket takers for Giants getting three scalps apiece. Skipper Dipendra Singh Airee also picked up two wickets. Alam’s innings included nine sixes and three fours.
