Amla century help SA win by 72 runs

As Hasim Amla scored his 16th century of career South Africa won the second One Day International against New Zealand by 72 runs and leads three match series 2-0 held at Bay Oval, Mouth Maunganui on Friday.


Proteas batted first after Black caps won the toss and elected to field first and made a total of 282 runs in 50 overs losing their nine wickets. Amla who completed his 16th century made 119 runs in playing 135 balls with 15 fours. Faf Du Plesis also contributed 67 runs.


In response of South Africa’s 282 runs New Zealand were all out in 46.3 overs making just 210 runs. Wicket keeper of New Zealand Luke Ronchi tried his best making 79 runs but was not able to take his team win the match.


Now South Africa and New Zealand will meet in the third and final ODI at Hamilton on 27th October.
