Allround Pooja takes RCW into final

Experienced Indian cricketer Pooja Nimavat starred with both bat and ball as Rising Cricket Women (RCW) defeated Milan Cricket Club of Jhapa to enter the final of the Ruslan Attariya Cup Women’s Twenty20 cricket tournament on Monday.Put in to bat first, Pooja’s enterprising knock helped RCW reach 119-3 in 20 overs. She then returned to pick up four wickets – three of them in the last over to polish off the tail – as Milan were bundled out for 110 runs in 20 overs.Milan were right on course despite losing opener Kajol Shrestha (duck) with just nine runs on the board. The early jolt hardly mattered as skipper Rubina Chhetri and Indian batswoman Ritu Jain stitched a 62-run partnership to steady the innings. But RCW skipper Aarati Bidari removed both set batswomen in consecutive deliveries in the 13th over as Milan pegged back. Muskan Begam (15) was the only remaining batswoman to get some runs for Milan before Pooj tore apart the tail order.Rubina made 39 off 41 with four boundaries and a six and Ritu scored 21 from 35 balls with two boundaries. Nary Thapa also picked up three wickets for RCW.Earlier, Pooja began RCW innings with a 33-run partnership for the first wicket with Shahnabaz Parveen, the Bangladeshi batswoman who made 17 off 24 with three boundaries. They soon lost Nary (one) to Saraswati Chaudhary before Pooja and another Bangladeshi cricketer Shampa Mukherjee got involved in a 72-run match-winning partnership.Pooja made 47 from 55 balls with three fours and Shampa scored 42 from 35 with six boundaries to her name. Saraswati (2-16) and Anuradha  Chaudhary (1-8) were Milan’s wicket takers.
