Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has been banned for bowling in all format of international cricket by International Cricket Council (ICC). Ajmal was banned by ICC considering his deliveries were illegal.
Ajmal’s delivery was reported during the first test match against Sri Lanka in Galle last month. ICC decided to ban him after bio-mechanics experts tested his action at the National Cricket Cetre in Brisbane.
Ajmal is the number one ranked bowler in ICC ODI rankings and is also top ten bowlers in test and T20. Ajmal has continuously been the highest wicket taker bowler in all format of cricket from the last three years.
Ajmal can still file a report against his ban to ICC and has expressed his hope to return back to the team for the upcoming World Cup to be held jointly in Australia and New Zealand next year.
Ajmal was also reported for bowling illegal delivery in 2009 while bowling doosra and was cleared the next month.
