Afridi returns back home

Shahid Afridi, all rounder of Pakistan has returned back home from UAE to be with his unwell daughter.


Afridi who was about to fly back home on Thursday will not be playing the fifth and final ODI against Sri Lanka in the UAE.


Afridi has also withdrawn from his contract with South African franchise Knights last week because of his daughter who is unwell.


Apart from scoring 34 runs in 12 balls in the first ODI and 30 from 15 balls in the second ODI, Afridi has not been able to impress neither with the bat nor with the ball.


Pakistan Cricket Board has also confirmed about Afridi’s return to home and has not named his replacement. As they have already won the five match series against Sri Lanka 3-1 with still a match to go.


Anwar Ali has been taken as the strongest candidate to play in place of Afridi.


Afridi will join his team for upcoming Asia Cup to be held in February and followed by T20 World Cup on March.
