Former Nepali U-19 cricketer Aadil Khan has struck a scintillating double century in the Bagmati Province Selection Tournament for the Prime Minister Cup One Day National on Thursday.
Aadil, playing for Lalitpur struck a 121-ball 201 with 16 fours and 15 sixes leading his team Lalitpur to a mammoth 375-4 against Tribhuvan University. Aadil shared 174 runs for the opening wicket with Ashuthosh Ghiraiya and another 148 runs for the second wicket with Durgesh Thapa in a whirlwind knock that revolved around him.
Aadil scored his first 100 in 85 deliveries and took just 35 deliveries to reach the second 100 runs. His half century came of 45 balls. Ashutosh contributed 83 off 58 with 12 fours and three sixes, while Durgesh’s 56-ball 53 included seven hits to the fence.
A listless TU side was bundled out for just 84 runs in 29.4 overs after another former U-19 seamer Nandan Yadav took 5-19 from eight overs. Only Prithu Baskota, the former national team star, managed to scored in double figures making a 48-ball 43. He hit four fours and three sixes.
At the Mulpani Cricket Ground, Ishan Pandey took 5-28 as Kathmandu defeated Bhaktapur by four wickets. Batting first, Bhaktapur were 97 all out in 33.4 overs. Kathmandu reached 98-6 in 23.5 after Jitendra Singh Thakuri scored a 47-ball 38.
