Free Student Union Council Nepal is organising the Inter-college FSU Council Cup National Twenty20 Cricket Tournament which is expected to be participate by 30 colleges across the country.
The knock out tournament will award the champions with Rs 60,000, while the runners-up will take home Rs 40,000 in an event that carries an expected budget of Rs 790,000. All the matches of the tournament will be played at the Pulchowk Engineering College grounds.
All Nepal National Free Students Union President Kishor Bikram Malla said the cricket tournament is just a continuity to their annual plans of organising any sports in a year.
“We organised chess, volleyball and marathon in the previous years and this time we decided to organise cricket,” said Malla.The entry fee for the colleges inside Kathmandu Valley is Rs 20,000, while the teams coming from outside the capital will get free entry.
Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, FSU Council coordinator said the tournament aims at forming brotherhood between players of various colleges.The tournament will be technically supported by the Cricket Association of Nepal.
