Nepal U-19 gave a target of 154 runs to Bangladesh U-19 in their first of the three practice matches of their preparation tour at the BKSP grounds in Dhaka on Thursday.

Bangladeshi bowlers justified their decision to bowl first as they restricted the visitors to 153-9 in 50 overs after Hasan Mahmud and Kazi Anik Islam picked up three wickets each.

Opener Aasif Sheikh top scored with 32 runs for Nepal. Nepal lost opener Sandeep Sunar (one) in the second over before Aasif and Anil Kumar Shah shared 31 runs for the second wicket.

Anil made 18 from 34 balls with three hits to the fence before he lost his wicket to Islam. Skipper Dipendra Singh Airee and Aasif then shared 32 runs for the third wicket but two quick wickets from Nayeem Hasan jolted Nepal's momentum.

Hasan first removed Airee for 16 off 24 that included two boundaries. He soon got rid of Rohit Kumar Paudel for a duck.

Aasif was next out for 32 hitting three boundaries in 77 balls. Bhim Sharki tried to hold the innings making 28 from 46 with two sixes and two fours.

Pawan Sarraf made 19 from 51 balls hitting two fours and Kamal Singh Airee was unbeaten on 17 from 34 balls with a boundary. Nepal will play two more friendly matches against the same side.
