BKSP coach Hasan urges change in training methodology

Sep 16, 2017 | Cricketingnepal |

Bangladesh Institute of Sports (BKSP) chief cricket coach Masud Hasan, who was in Nepal to conduct a coaching camp and training of trainers for Nepali coaches and players, said Nepali young cricketers need an umbrella to bring good cricketers out of them.

Hasan, under whom more than 19,000 young cricketers are trained in BKSP, suggested Nepal to come up with a different approach in their training that is currently enhanced by Test countries around the world.

"What I can see is there is talent in Nepali cricketers but someone needs to take the initiative to guide them properly. And if we see closely, the training approach and other methodologies are not update," said Hasan.

Great Himalaya Cricket Academy has brought Hasan for a 12-day training programme. On the sidelines, Hasan had conducted the ToT. The training was participated in by more than 50 cricketers.

GHCA President Sudeep Sharma said the programme was beneficial and wanted it to not get limited within the Academy. "We want cricketers from across the country to get benefited through this programme. If we can go as a single unit representing Nepali cricket to GHCA, it will be very helpful for us.

Hasan said BKSP and Nepali cricket's governing body can have tie-up and get involved in several programmes. BKSP is the larget sports institute in Bangladesh which has facilities for 17 sports disciplines. Current Bangladeshi cricketers Shakib-Al-Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim are the products of BKSP.
