The already-hyped Everest Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament is set to have Australian cricketers if everything goes as planned.

EPL Pvt Ltd, which is coming up with a remodeled version of the Everest Premier League is currently in process of luring Australian players for the tournament and its founder Aamir Akhtar is currently in Australia in hunt of the cricketers.

According to an EPL Pvt Ltd member, Akhtar is currently holding meeting with Australian cricketers, coaches and various stake holders. EPL Pvt Ltd has made three foreign players mandatory in every single team of the tournament.

During his 10-day stay in Australia, Akhtar is likely to land former, current and various Australian cricketers for the highest cash-prized cricket tournament of the country.

The tournament which was previously played between corporate houses will now be a city-based franchise league and will give away a whopping cash prize of Rs 2.1 million. The total cash prize is Rs 600,000 more than what Dhangadhi Premier League winners received earlier this year.

The highest cash prize tournament will be held in December after a round of auction of the players. While each team will have 15 players, 10 of them will be included through auction. It is mandatory for all the teams have three foreign recruits and one player should be included through an open talent hunt in the respected city. Also, one marquee player (optional) could also be considered.

Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Birgunj and Pokhara will be the four city franchises in the tournament, while the owners and the team details will be revealed in due course. All the matches of the tournament will be held at the TU grounds.

The organizers say they have made arrangements to involve vendors, event managers and entertainment that have had experience working in the Indian Premier League to ensure efficiency in management and an Elevated cricketainment experience on the ground.

The players kept for the auction will be divided into three categories and will have three players in 'A' categories, four in 'B' and three in 'C'. The base amount

and nature of the categories are yet to be determined.
