Nepal Commerce Campus (NCC) and Shankar Dev Campus (SDC) set the title clash of the Sponsor University Twenty20 Cup on Monday.
In the first semi-final at the TU Grounds, Shankar Dev defeated Tribhuvan University (TU) by 22 runs, while NCC overcame Golden Gate International College by six wickets.
Shankar Dev posted a challenging 163-5 in 20 overs with Ayushman Bam and Aashish Pokhrel contributing big runs. Man-of-the-match Aashish Pokhrel then returned to pick up two wickets along with Lokendra Dhami as TU were restricted to 141-9.
Aschal Chaudhary top scored for TU with a 27-ball 42 with five fours and a six, while Alfaj Mansuri chipped in a run-a-ball 28 hitting three boundaries. Prakash Bista, Arun Airee and Rabindra Chand also picked up a wicket each for Shankar Dev.
Earlier, Ayushman made 37 off 42 with eight boundaries and Ashish made 38 off 24 hitting three sixes and a boundary. Rabindra Shahi (22) and Rabindra (21 not out) also contributed some valuable runs.
In the second match, NCC bundled out Golden Gate for 130 all out in 20 overs before reaching 133-4 in 19.4 overs. Pawan Shrestha led the NCC charge making 42 not out from 46 with three fours and two sixes.
Himanshu Dutta also made 25 from 30 balls with two fours and a six. Roshan Budal made 22 not out from 14 balls with two sixes and a four. Avinash Bashyal, Indrakamal Manandhar, Sanjay Basnet and Prashanna Shakya took one wicket each for Golden Gate.
Sanjay Basnet top scored for Golden Gate making 37 off 32 with two fours and two sixes, while Prashanna and Sourav Singh Pela made 18 runs each. Basanta Khatri was the pick of the NCC bowlers taking 3-16 from four overs. The final is scheduled for Tuesday.
