Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has given a
breathtaking performance in his Australia tour picking up six wickets leading
Western Suburbs to a 28-run victory on Saturday.
In the two-day game against St Georges, Western
Suburbs were bundled out for 219 runs in 49.1 overs. Sandeep, who had made five
runs with the bat, then returned to strangulate St Georges batsmen picking up
6-63 from 21.1 overs.
Sandeep's fine performance saw St Georges bundled
out for just 183 runs in 54.1 overs. Sandeep's wicket included that of St
Georges' top scorer and opener R Verbopoulos who made 61 runs.
Sandeep is currently playing Australian Grade
Cricket with Sydney-based Suburbs after he was invited by Australian World Cup
winning skipper Michael Clarke.
