Comfortable win for Pakistan after Wasim 5 and Azam 55

As Imad Wasim took first five wickets haul and Babar Azam scored a maiden half century Pakistan sealed a nine wickets win over T20 World champions West Indies in the first T20 International match held at Dubai. With the win Pakistan are 1-0 up in three match T20 series.

 

Chasing a target of 116 runs Pakistan over came the target in just 14.2 overs losing one wickets. Azam who scored his maiden half century in 14.1 overs with a brilliant four finished the match in the very next ball with another four. Azam played 37 balls for his 55 runs which he scored with six fours and two sixers.

 

Azam added 88 runs in just 10.3 overs for second wicket with Khalid Latif who started slowly but came to finish the inning making 34 runs in just 32 balls with four fours and a six. Sharjeel Khan also contributed 22 runs in 17 balls before being bowled by Samuel Badree.

 

Earlier World Champions were all out making just 115 runs in 19.5 overs after Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bowl first.

 

As man of the match Imad Wasim took five wickets in four overs conceding just 14 runs, West Indies were once 48 for eight in 11.3 overs. Thanks to Dwayne Bravo who made 55 runs in 54 balls to take his team to a appreciable total. Apart from Wasim Sohail Tanvir took two wickets for Pakistan conceding 26 runs in his 3.5 overs.

 

The next match between Pakistan and West Indies will be played on Saturday at the same venue.
