Jun 11, 2015 | Eddie Van Brooks |

Nepal will play three friendly matches against Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) XI on their preparation tour of India.

The national team, preparing for the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers that begins from July 9-27 in Ireland and Scotland, will begin their three-match friendly series with the first Twenty20 on June 15. The second and third will be held on 17 and 18.

Nepal will complete their preparation tour of India on June 19 before returning the next day. Coach Pubudu Dassanayake expects to see strong competitors in the friendly series. “We have been given net bowlers here (HPCA Stadium) for the training camp and they are good. I hope the team we will get to play will also be strong,” Dassanayake told cricketingnepal.com on Thursday.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Wednesday announced a 15-member final squad for the Qualifiers and Dassanayake was happy with the team selection adding: “We got a strong squad and now we need to get the right combination. We will be focused to bring that in our squad.”

The national team is Dharamshala in an all-sponsored trip from the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The BCCI had agreed to help Nepal practice in India after its facilities in Kathmandu got damaged due to the devastating earthquake of April 25.
