Steve Davis to retire from umpiring

English umpire Steve Davis has announced his retirement from umpiring in cricket after the five match One Day International series between England and New Zealand that will kick off in June 9 at Edgbaston.

 

Davis who debuted as umpire in 1992 in the ODI match between Pakistan and West Indies at Adelaide has umpired in 135 ODIs while he has umpired in 57 matches after debuting in 1997 between Australia and New Zealand. Likewise Davis has umpired in 26 T20 Internationals.

 

63-years old Davis was selected for International panel of ICC Umpires in 2002. Later in the year 2008 he was promoted to Elite panel. During his 25 years carrier as umpire he was a part of World Cup for .three editions, T20 World Cup for five editions and twice in Champions Trophy.
